We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Greg Sanderson as Director, London Television, Zinc Media Group to help further fuel the company’s growth across four of its award-winning factual brands.
In his new role, Sanderson will oversee the company’s labels which operate out of London: Blakeway, the home of high-quality specialist factual TV and audio content across history, archaeology, natural history, arts and music; Brook Lapping, the home of landmark current affairs and investigations programming; Films of Record, the home of outstanding access documentaries and one of the UK’s longest established television brands; and Reef, which focuses on high-rating popular factual formats and daytime series.
An award-winning executive producer, Sanderson joined Zinc Media Group in 2015 as Managing Director of Brook Lapping, and has grown the label’s portfolio of landmark current affairs and investigations programming into new areas and new broadcasters. He became Interim Managing Director, Zinc Television London earlier in this year. Sanderson’s career spans a wide range of factual genres including documentary, specialist factual, popular factual and factual formats.

Greg Sanderson has worked across the full range of factual production throughout his career. His back catalogue covers: popular factual series and singles including Meatloaf: In and Out of Hell, Monty Don’s History of the British Garden, Lost Kingdoms of South America, Dancing Cheek to Cheek, factual formats including The Quizeum with Griff Rhys Jones, A Cook Abroad and Don’t Tell the Bride; stand-out premium factual including Buried Secrets of World War II and China’s Megatomb Revealed; and documentaries including Academy Award-winning theatrical release Man on Wire and International Emmy Award-winning The English Surgeon.
After starting his career at Touch Productions and Flashback TV, Sanderson moved to the BBC as Editorial Executive of Storyville, rising to become Executive Producer the following year. After spending a year as Executive Producer of BBC ONE’s Imagine strand and Editor of The Review Show, Sanderson returned to commissioning as Commissioning Editor for Arts and Music across the BBC’s TV channels. He also worked as Executive Producer across the BBC’s Proms season for three years. Sanderson’s additional credits at Zinc include: Paxman: Why Are Our Politicians So Crap? (Channel 5), To Catch a Serial Killer with Trevor McDonald (ITV), Lord Lucan: My Husband, The Truth (ITV); The Search for a New Earth (BBC, FTV) Inside Obama’s White House (BBC, ARTE, National Geographic), Inside Europe: 10 Years of Turmoil (BBC and Smithsonian).

Zinc Media Group produces content for UK and US broadcasters from its bases across the UK, with offices in London, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Belfast, Manchester, Macclesfield and Bristol. The creation of this new post is part of the wider Zinc Media Group transformation plan announced by the CEO at the end of 2019. It follows the launch of Zinc’s Branded Content Division, headed by Dominic de Terville, news of which was released in June. Sanderson takes up his new position immediately.
